HI @plantmom12
How are you doing today?
It is great to hear Keto has worked for you so far. It might be worthwhile to find a nutritionist who can balance your needs of both conditions. I will tag a few other members who may be able to share their experiences with diet and NASH. What type of diet do you follow? Have you tried Keto? What has your doctor suggested you to do?

Hi Carenity
I started keto about a month ago, and I have (so far) been pleased with the results. But I've been told it is not sustainable and I worry what will happen in the future.I have the end stage of fatty liver known as NASH. For years, my doctors have been insistent that I lay off all fatty foods and as a result, my liver should become less damaged in the long run. I've tried almost every diet under the sun, and none have worked for me as well as keto. I just found out I also have PCOS. This explained a lot about why I could hit my calorie intake goal with other diets but still gain weight. I brought up keto to my doctor and expressed concern that, while I'm finally losing weight, I'm also eating a lot more fat, and I don't want to trash my liver more than I already have. He said that, right now, the benefits outweigh the risk but that keto cannot be a long term diet for me once I've gotten to my goal weight. Keto has been a positive lifestyle change for me, and I'm afraid of being unable to continue that lifestyle. Do any of you have any experience with NASH v. Keto? Some resources I've found online say that glucose and sugars in general make it harder for one's liver to process fat and that cutting out carbs is the answer, but other resources (and doctors) have told me that I should avoid fatty food completely. I'm in a weird position where carbs are horrible for my body (PCOS), but fat (NASH) is apparently dangerous for my liver, so I'm feeling very confused.
Thanks for any advice!
