I have diabetic neuropathy in my right thigh. The burning sensations are unbearable. The medication my doctor has rx me does nothing. This pain wakes me almost every night. I am simply terrified.

I have had severe nerve pain for over a year now. I stopped taking my meds because I couldn't afford them. Then the pain hit me 3 months later and its been beyond anything I have ever felt in my life. My left side was inflamed, prickling feelings going up and down my whole left side, joint stiffness and pain, painful numbness.
Then everything shifted, moved from left to my right side and my entire torso area front and back. The same kind of heated tingling prickly pain, painful numbing that went deep, and weakness, I got a weakness like being sick with the flu, I couldn't stand up straight from the stiffness in my torso and back.
I thought at first it was from sitting so much now that I was sheltering at home so I got up more but no difference. It was 8 months later that I thought it was nueropathy. So I changed my diet, lost 52 lbs, removed all sugar from my diet including the fake, I take 3-4 hot showers a day, massage the areas that hurt the most, take naps, meditate, use hot/cold compresses, I take 1600mg of ibuprophen a day now. I found lowering my numbers was the answer yet the most difficult. My pain is now centralized around my torso, front and back, down my right thigh and the right side pelvic area. I have occasional tingling in other parts of my body but its manageable.
I have two more weeks before my doctor appt, I bought my own medical so I can go back to my doctors from 2 years ago. I am so looking forward to getting this under control.

@Acokley yes on occasion. I massage my feet and put lotion on them regularly. I have a small exercise ball (its hard and the size of a tennis ball) that I roll my feet over. It helps stretch out my feet. Also it helps keep my brain connected to my feet.

Yes I do suffer with this. I have mentioned this to my doctor, but nothing seems to help. Any treatments out there please let me know. I take close to 14 medications.
