I to have been using the Libre2 and must agree the elimination of finger sticks has been a good send especially after 30 years of monitoring. I have been using the device for almost a year and sing it’s praises to anyone who will listen. I had one device fail which was immediately replaced.

I have been using the Libre 2 since March of this year and have had at least one in every three fail. Abbott is good about replacing failed units but the hassle is annoying. The low alarms at 2 in the morning and doing a finger stick to find you are in the good range is very annoying especially when it wakes your spouse also. I have seen that the failure rate is around 40% not at all impressive. When you are trying to adjust your insulin to your numbers it is very difficult. If you have a high reading and take to much you cause yourself to go low. I shouldn't have to do a finger stick to make sure if this is to replace doing finger sticks.

I have been using the FreeStyle Libre 2 CGM since last summer.
Doing finger sticks was not very convenient and it did not provide me with enough information to effectively manage my type 2 diabetes.
Though my insurance would not pay for it, I decided it was worth the cost and could afford it. And, the device definitely made a difference in the management of my diabetes.
Doing some research, I found that although only the placement of the device on the arm was “approved,” there were alternate locations that were effective. And, I make use of one of the alternate sites.
I have only had 2 defective devices - one that didn’t work straight out of the box and one that died before it should of. In both cases, the company replaced the sensors at no charge.
So, all in all, I am pleased with the device.
I would like to hear of the experiences others have had with the device.
Thanks! Happy New Year!
