Hi everyone, how are you doing? Can you recommend any foods or snacks that can help lower or even out lcastiwg's blood sugar levels? Is there a good meal or food they can eat before or after work that would help?

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about a week ago. The doctor laughed and was very blase' about it. I was really upset about it and cried. I was started on the pills and have been trying not to eat.. well much of anything. My blood sugar is still high. I'm so frustrated. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you Courtney...J. I have been eating raw garlic. I eat blueberries and greek yogurt. My blood sugar is going down. (I'm so happy) Carenity has helped me a lot. I do have another question. I did a urine test and my doctor said it has proteins in it. Is there any way to fix this?

@lcastiwg my sugars fluctuates between 140-230 even with 14 units of insulin and 1000 mg of metformin 2x a day. It was almost 600 even I found out I was diabetic. A1C was 12.6! I feel tons better but if its gets lower than 140 I start to feel sluggish. I've done much better with it though. I've quit sodas! I didn't know garlic helped. I LOVE garlic!! Guess it doesn't work for everyone. Lol

This hearty bean and barley soup makes a warming and satisfying meatless meal. And it’s so easy to change this up and add your favorites. Not a fan of kidney beans? Try garbanzo or cannellini beans. Kale or arugula make a great substitute for spinach. Serve with crusty bread or stir in some croutons for extra crunch.

I work overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and my sugar levels come out at 150-130 can seem to lower them down. What can I eat to lower my sugar levels. I'm new to this any tips would be greatly appreciated.
