I have scheduled airline travel for May of this year. Tickets paid for, deposits made. Should I wait to cancel (heartbreaking) or wait to see if program are announced help process refunds. I am alread compromised by ag and two separate health conditions. The stress is triggering extreme anxietywhich is already medicated, but unresolved with current treatments.

@1983Teresa Ooh, I understand how you feel, I just had to cancel a family vacation for early next month because of this madness! I talked to my doctor and based on how the virus is developing in the US currently and how it's projected to develop, he recommended that I cancel. We're keeping me on my treatment because the side effects of stopping would have been worse for me. I'd say to ask you doctor what he thinks. I think a lot of the airlines are being reasonable with refunds and such, or at least we got lucky with ours. I've been so worried too about all that's going on that canceling was sort of a release for me. At least I know I'll be safe at home!

@1983Teresa @broadwaylady Hello, thank you both for your comments. If you haven't seen already, yesterday we published an article that clarifies the coronavirus and the COVID-19 infection and tries to summarize some useful information and links. It may be of some help to you. I'll link it below:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Take care,
Courtney

I had an appointment at Cleveland clinic on Monday that I cancelled. I really hated to cancel as I am wanting to get on the new infusions. I’ve actually cancelled all my upcoming dr appointments. My family dr is seeing me through face time. As an MS patient should I be wearing a mask if I do go out?

Along with all my illnesses you don't have Normocytic Anemia amongst the list. I have it and Multiple Sclerosis,.Asthma, HBP and hypothyroid. All immun-suppressed. I also had major spine surgery in 2018. Sometimes I wheeze due to chronic allergies. Should I get tested. I live in the state/city where the virus is moving like it's on steroids.. New Orleans.

This whole thing with COVID-19 has thrown a wrench in all my springtime plans for my family, as well as my treatment plans. I had MRIs scheduled (which I had to cancel because my son's school closed down and I had no one to watch him), my therapy for my hip injury due to labrum tears has all been pit on hold.
I had a spring break trip planned to surprise my son with, to take him to Great Wolf Lodge, and they emailed me last night, telling me that that they we're closing thru spring break, and my reservation will be canceled. My whole family was planning to come visit over Memorial Day weekend, and now we don't even know if that will be a possibility anymore.
This whole thing sucks, and being on a DMT, I can't even leave the house to do anything. We have a "community spread" in our county, and I've been advised by my doctors to cut off contact with just about anyone who leaves the house. Supplies are running thin here in SE Wisconsin, and I have to use what I have to sanitize everything that comes thru the door.
I'm starting to go a little stir crazy sitting here. My human contact is limited to my wife and my son. Thank god for video chat and video games where I can actually play with my friends occasionally.

@Kimmiegoodwin I think the masks haven't been proven to be useful for the general population. They're mostly useful for keeping droplets from sick from getting into the air. And where possible it's important to save them for the people who are on the front lines, aka the doctors, nurses, and the infected themselves.
@QueenAngel55 That must be so scary! Have you been feeling sick or have you been in contact with anyone who's been sick?
@TheMSDad I totally understand your frustration on having to cancel trips. My doctor recommended I cancel my trip for next month so I had to bite that bullet. Yes, thank goodness for modern technology! I've been able to catch up on all my shows and talk to friends across the country that haven't been able to talk to in a while.

Hello everyone,
Since the Coronavirus epidemic concerns many Americans (and Carenity members too), I've created this discussion to allow you to talk specifically about the virus in the context of multiple sclerosis, as we all know that patients can be weakened by their treatments.
Have you received any special instructions from your doctor regarding your care? Are you going to limit your travel? Do you have any advice for others?
Take care,
Courtney
