If your disorder is genetic, therapy may not be the answer.

I have had success with cognitive behavioral therapy. It helps you to understand what type of thoughts you're having and has you reframe them. After a time, you'll find that you're thinking more positively. For example, you may have the thought that someone doesn't like you. In CBT, you learn that type of thought is called mind reading. Since you don't really know what someone is thinking then it doesn't make sense to assign thoughts to them. so you might tell yourself something like I don't know what that person is thinking, so I'll say hello to them to find out. So how you think impacts your actions in a positive way. I hope this helps and that you are feeling better soon.

@Classycathy Absolutely! Try the cannabis pens. The come in Sativa (energetic high), Indica (a mellow and relaxing high) or blends. You can read on the box to see what the strain type is so you don’t grab the wrong one. I use Indica during my manic episodes. While it doesn’t completely rid me of the mania, but it definitely helps and gives me some relief. I believe you can buy them online. Our friends usually have them on hand so we get ours that way. Good luck!🍀

Hello,
I would like to know which therapy approach is the best for bipolar disorder as I've tried group psychoeducation and family centered therapy but I'm still feeling terrible.
Thanks for your advices!
