Do you get drug tested by your pain management doctor? Can you explain why? Have you ever failed? What happened afterwards?
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

@LizziB no I don't get tested in this pain clinic because marijuana is legal even recreationally here in Ohio now and my care team is aware I take 1 marijuana gummy every day. That is all I need and can afford.

If you take pain medication you get drug tested to make sure you are indeed taking them and not selling them. I get tested every so often. Sounds funny to me!!!!

@lolagracedevchris Usually I have to give a urine specimen. I do it here in NM because it is the law when taking controlled substances. I have done blood tests also.

Chronic pain can be really challenging, and the pressure of medication tests adds another layer. A while back, a friend of mine who also dealt with chronic pain had to go through something similar. He failed a test and was worried about losing his pain meds too.
He ended up looking into different options and found that synthetic urine worked well for some folks in similar situations. It made him feel a bit more at ease knowing there were alternatives out there.
I think it’s pretty common for people in pain management to worry about tests, especially when their treatment is on the line.

This weekend I was having a chat with my friend's fiancé and it came up that he suffers from chronic pain and sees a pain management doctor. He said he failed the test and is hoping they don't cut his meds. I didn't want to ask more details since I don't know him that well (also weird that he was telling me this...) but now I want to know
Can someone tell me what he means by this? Is this normal? should I be concerned?
thanks
