I was diagnosed last June 6th after being rushed to the hospital with hemorrhaging blood. Had been misdiagnosed in May with Ulcerative Colitis after having a colonoscopy. Was not doing well started bleeding profusely from the rectum and rushed to the hospital and after two days of all types of tests found I had a gastrointestinal intestinal hemorrhage had to be repaired. Had 4 blood transfusions during this time as well.
A new gastroenterologist at the hospital did another colonoscopy and took biopsies and determined I had severe Chron's disease. We fired the gastroenterologist I had due to misdiagnosis and blowing off all the problems I was having leading up to the issues in June. Spent seven days in the hospital. I had never had any of these issue in my life until symptoms started in March 2020.
We hired the gastroenterologist from the hospital to continue to treat me. He felt given the seriousness of my situation we had to start with a Remicade Infusion. He was able to get it approved with our insurance and I started that 3 weeks after entering the hospital. Started with receiving IV Infusion every 8 weeks, but had to be increased to once every four weeks due to my body burning through the medication so quickly. I also an injectable form of methotrexate to treat my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. After following this protocol along with folic acid daily and Vitamin D3 it appears my Chron's is going into a form of remission. This determination was made after having another colonoscopy 1 month ago. Bloodwork results came back fine the last two times tested. Also for first time in a long time my D3 levels in blood are in a normal range.
I will continue to receive my Remicade Infusion once a month and continue on my other meds. Thankfully I have had success with my medication protocol and not had any issues.

Hi everyone,
How are you today? I thought I'd open this discussion so we can talk about Crohn's treatments
What treatments have you tried for your Crohn's? Have you tried anti-inflammatory drugs, immune system suppressors, or biologics? Have you undergone surgery? What has worked for you? What hasn't?
