Hello.
I began to experience symptoms such as severe pain and stiffness in my hands about 1.5 - 2 years before actual diagnosis. The later diagnosis was partly to me not going to see the doctor for some time... I thought it may have been a recurrence of issues I had with my hands before (carpal tunnel, etc). However, my new doctor told me that I may had had symptoms years before... I had two hip replacements about 6 years before and carpal tunnel surgery also (both hands) and release of nodules in the hands, My new doctor asked me if they ever performed tests on me to detect RA then, which they did not, and he says I may have had signs of RA from back then because I was so young when all that happened.

I began to experience pain and stiffness more than usual in my hands and feet. i was also experiencing frequent fevers and headaches. I went to my general practitioner predominately because of the headaches and pain because my plan is HMO. Anyways, my general practitioner did prescribe some medications but wanted me to undergo blood tests and X-rays; he said my fingers were more swollen and that my complaints were possible RA... and it turned out it was.

Hi Members,
Please share your experience and thoughts regarding the length it took for a RA diagnosis:
How long did it take for you to get diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Were there any reasons for a delay? Anything you would recommend to others in their journey to diagnosis who think they may have RA and are concerned?
