Hello,
I experience brain fog during intense flare-ups. I am only 25, but when I am studying, etc. and I have extreme flare-ups it is very hard for me to concentrate and focus. I also get depressed about it!
I am hoping someone has some recommendations, but what I do is I try and either take a nap (just let me self fall asleep) or sit outside. I live in FL, so it is always hot, which feels good.

RA has caused me to have trouble concentrating and remembering things; I really need to try and focus on remembering things. Doctor said it was due to the brain chemicals affected negatively by the inflammation. It causes you to fortget things and not be able to concentrate. I try to get more sleep and write things down and be very organized because of it. I also take an anti-depressant.

Brain fog seems to be a common symptoms of RA... I was told by a doctor that it was not a symptom of RA, but later found out from another doctor, a PA, and my own research that it is indeed. Any time the body is inflamed (the brain is inflamed) you will experience brain fog.
I have been taking Ginko, Rhodiola, Gotu Kola, brahmi, and lion's mane. I found these from researching brain fog and they have helped. I hope you to find it helpful; I recommend you doing your own research and google brain fog and herbal treatments.

@achy38 I
I have trouble remembering things & concerting too, but didn't know that RA can cause it. I also take an anti-depressant, but don't like the side effects. I'm not taking anything for the RA, are you?

I take the best CBD oil on the market. My aunt who has RA much worse than I do, has been taking for a year. Took me a while to get her to try it cuz she is a retired RN but now she uses it religiously and gets relief. Let me know if you want info. Not all CBD is made the same. This is pure. But I know what you mean.

Hello,
I am on medication for my RA and receive biologics injections; however, I have been suffering from extreme brain fog lately.
I could be doing anything writing from writing an e-mail to cleaning and begin to dream, feel like I am out of it, or have the desire to fall asleep.
I am 63, severe RA in hands and feet, and I am getting depressed. I was a full time employed - now basically unemployed - because I cannot perform the duties of my job.
Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with brain fog and RA?
