Bronkaid is an OTC medication, no prescription is needed, and I found it just as effective as any prescription medications I've used to treat my emphysema. It's enabled me to cut down on the use of an inhaler, makes breathing easier, and I can now lie down flat to sleep in bed instead of having to sit up. My pulmonologist is completely stymied as to why it works so well but his attitude is simply "whatever."
