In 2017, the Asthma and Allergy Friendly® Certification Program tested and certified many new products to give you more options.

When shopping, look for the Certification Program Mark on these new products, as well a many other products. The mark lets you know you are getting products scientifically proven to be suitable for those with asthma and allergies.

You can shop for Certified products by visiting aafa.org/certified or by using the Asthma and Allegery Foundation of America app. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

What Does the Certified asthma & allergy friendly® Mark Mean?

There is a lot of confusion when it comes to products targeting the asthma and allergy market. It is estimated that Americans spend over $10 billion annually on products claiming to reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. At the same time, concerned consumers are rarely provided with sufficient proof that the asthma and allergy marketing statements made by manufacturers are valid. This lack of information often prevents the consumer from making an educated purchase decision and causes confusion regarding the real features and benefits of a product. Because of this information gap, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) in partnership with Allergy Standards Limited (ASL) launched the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program – a unique independent, third-party certification program in the United States.
