@trav309 Hello trav309, thank you for starting this discussion. I think many people with asthma may be worried about this, as the COVID-19 infections is known for its impact on the respiratory system. If you haven't seen it yet, one of our members who has asthma was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 and shared his experience with us. In the article he described what his symptoms were like, I think it may be of help to you:
Coronavirus and Asthma: A Patient's Experience
Hello members, how are you doing? Have any of your asthma symtoms worsened since the start of the outbreak? Do you know anyone who has had the coronavirus? What are you doing to protect yourself?

@trav309 i had the same problem but not with my back. I have a abutarol inhaler, I started that till I went through 2 with in a month and a half. Called the doctor they gave me a medrol dose pack took that started to feel better, once I was done the shortness of breath came back,, then they put me on prednisone. That was working as long as I was on it. Once done my shortness of breath came back. They had me tested for covid 19, results were negative for that day. I was running a low grade fever also.
I guess I will have to wait for the antibody test. You should be tested, givin your a high risk person because of your asthma. I'm now on flovent plus my inhaler. So far so good. I wish you the best!

@trav309 Hi, I hope you're feeling better! Have you had a fever? Because that's one of the biggest signs of COVID-19 besides the dry cough. I agree with @Starangel, try to get tested if you can! Let us know how you're doing!

I too had asthma issues. I was also having severe anxiety and that goes hand in hand with Asthma. I had to take prednisone for 5 days and I take a pill for anxiety when I start to feel tightness in my chest or the shakes. So far that has been the best for me. I am also on allergy meds since it is spring time... I haven't had to take a puff on an inhaler for a few days since being off prednisone. I just take my pill at tightness and shakeness and that helps and I can go on my way. I was a high intensity workout person before COVID-19 and the asthma flair. Now I am an advid walker for 2-3 miles per day to keep up my strength. I hope to get back to my other workouts soon but I don't want to push it yet. Hang tight everyone we can do it.

@trav309 Are you doing better? Did you manage to get tested? I had a scare a few weeks ago and got tested and it came back negative. Turns out it was just an infection.
@No1_ksu_fan That's great for your walks! I used to be into fitness too but it's been hard in recent years with my asthma and then all this. The HIIT isn't too much for you? How do you handle it?

I’m starting to get upset . I started last week I think a sinus infection . Started wheezing Friday . I’m on budesonide daily , brio and singular daily . Now I’ve had to add albuterol since Monday . I’m getting the pain on the left side if my lung in the back of course my dr is not in. Talked to a doctor on Monday she says if not better you’ll have to go on prednisone . I haven’t been near anyone for 6 weeks except curbside pickup . How do u know it’s not Covid 19
