@GEN210 I suffer from schizophrenia, and yes our illnesses have a way of bringing out our worst fears, mental imbalances especially. I have known many bipolar folks like yourself since entering the mental health system at the age of 23, and you lay it on me if you need. Sorry about your mom.

I need someone to talk to. Anyone to help me through what I'm feeling. I lost my cat yesterday, but she was more than just a cat. She was my soulmate. It was love at first sight. And death pulled her away too soon. We were going to celebrate her first birthday in May... My other cats and I are distraught and I feel like the world doesn't feel real without her in it. Chores and homework are impossible, and all I can do is lay around and cry all day. I don't know what to do without my soul mate.

Hi I'm mike,I've been sober one year in April, I drank for over 20 years, since I have stopped drinking, I have nightmares, I dont smile,I live to be miserable, its effecting my health, relationship, kids,I hide in rooms, away from everyone, give excuses not to go out,and it seems I just want to pick a argument just to argue, all of this is actually not who I am, but what I have become, looking to talk and find solutions to repair myself.

I’m really struggling with loneliness this week. My family says that they understand I have PTSD/depression but that I should “just get over it” because I’m almost an adult. They don’t mean to but they make me feel useless. They call me lazy and uncaring because my mental illness hasn’t magically healed itself. My mom even said she doesn’t know if she wants me to go home over college breaks anymore because "the family doesn’t like to be around me when I’m sad.” I’ve been going to therapy and taking medication since I was 9 but nothing seems to work. I had a really good friend who I would talk to and we would help each other with our depression spells but she just randomly ghosted me after 2 years of friendship. I feel so alone. I don’t have motivation to do anything anymore.

Hi I have recently moved to Alabama. I live with my daughter. Do not have any friends no social life. Really feel bad about myself . All I do is take care of the grandchildren. I really need to communicate with more people other than my son in law and my daughter.

@melodylorrene I'm so sorry you are going through that! It's difficult when family turns their back on you- I know from experience. We want the people we love the most to help us when needed. Do you want to talk about what caused the PTSD? Sometimes that helps as well. There may be someone else on here that had a similar experience and they can tell you how they healed. Maybe a medication change or additional therapy might help? I would love to talk more. I hope you are doing ok today. Big hugs! ❤

@mrlandscaper41 I hope you are doing well today! I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Have you tried therapy? A therapist may be able to pin point why you are going through so much and help you heal. Maybe you started drinking many years ago to not deal with pain at the time? Now that's why you have the pain and nightmares. That could be completely untrue as well. People drink for many reasons and we all know it can become addictive. Do you still surround yourself with the same people? Are they drinking without you? I recently started therapy myself and my therapist goal is to always get to the root of the problem. Many things we do in life are bandaid fixes to cover pain. I hope this helps. Big hugs! ❤

Hi,
this is sindhy. This is my first time posting something like this.
i do not know if i am on right page. But just trying to feel little better. I am suffering from depression. I am in a relationship from past 3years. I like the guy and he likes me. I feel like i just got used to living with him thats why i feel like i love him. But my parents never liked him. Because my siblings got married with good looking and good family people where if any issue comes they will take care. But the guy whom i choose as per the character he is good but i started feeling so depressed that i am taking right decision or no. His parents were interested in the first but now they are really acting weird. I started thinking and now its really getting worse. Also we have a dog whom i never wanna leave.

hi, i’m 18. i really need someone to talk to, i can’t talk to my parents or they will get angry at me because i’m trying to tell them how i feel. why do they blame everything on me, even if i didn’t do it? i think they will be better off without me.

Hello Carenity Members,
I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason
I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:
1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.
2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.
or
3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.
I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.
As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.
If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255
Thank you,
Lee__R
