@Dtrosa63 hey I know it’s late right now but please if you have the time I would be honored to chat with you. No subject or structure but just casual conversation or whatever is on your mind. I also need someone to talk to and I think we may have the right opposites to learn and grow . 💙

Right now I really need someone to talk to I’m in a very dark place and I feel trapped. I have depression, anxiety, PTSD, plus other things. I feel alone as if all of these things are controlling my life.

I feel worthless and alone right now. Logically I know this is not right but I feel like my world is falling in on top of me and I do t know how to fix anything in my life. I'm just so tired of feeling like this and I feel as if I have noone to help me. Like everyone in my life has turned against me.

ive struggled with anxiety, depression and low self esteem my entire life wnd I just hate looking in the mirror at this point. I can barely do school and my parents think it’s because I’m lazy instead of helping me try to get over how I’m feeling and how it effects my school work and social life.

So I'm 33 and my depression and anxiety seem to have hit an alarm time high. I left my wife 8 months ago after I found out she was cheating. We were together 13 years. I can't seem to pull myself from my mind at times. Im alone and really have been feeling like is life even worth living anymore. Just need to talk to someone.

I'm having a hard time with depression in two ways. Before I met my partner I was a pretty happy girl, then I met the man I love and just to be clear wouldn't change him for the world. I choose him and choose to be with him but he has a deep rooted depression since the age of 12. He watched his mom die, all the women in his life left him or cheated on him. He lives in the past.
The issue for me is that because of his past, it comes back and haunts me too. When he gets depressed he lashes out on me, blames me for his problems, and stops talking to me for days sometimes weeks. Then when he done being depressed he comes back and is "himself" again.
He knows I love him, and I know he loves me, but all this is starting to take a toll on me. I will never understand what it's like to loose your mom, have a deadbeat dad and have all women in your life leave. He is suicidal. I know I'm not the best person to talk to for him.
I guess what I need is a better understanding, how to keep holding on while keeping my health in check, and anything I can do to help his depression process. He won't go for help. So I need help.
Anyone with advice, or ways that got you to realize that asking for help is not a weakness but strength.

@Broken1999 I am here if you need to talk. I completely know what it feels like to be in a very dark place. I'm just now getting to a point where I feel like I can see the light again. For me, getting rid of the darkness was removing everything/everyone toxic in my life- unfortunately that is painful for a while but will be better and healthier in the end. I hope you are doing ok. I hope to hear from you! Big hugs!

@Boofie I don't think your explanation is abnormal. At times it can feel like we are suffocating. We can only handle so much at once. Why do you feel everyone is against you? Maybe they were never there to begin with? I learned the hard way that family and friends that truly care are there during good AND bad times. When they disappear during the bad- they likely weren't worth the worry and pain on your end. I hope you are doing ok today. Big hugs!

@Nakalvin have you talked to a therapist about how you are feeling? I do believe that the emotional stress you are feeling can cause you to have trouble focusing on what's important. The good thing is that there is plenty of help and support available. Some people do fine with just talking to a therapist, some need a little anti- anxiety medicine- that can also help with social anxiety. There are plenty of options. The first step would probably be seeing your regular doctor for the best recommendation. Please reach out to me if you want to talk further. I hope you are doing well today. Big hugs!

Hello Carenity Members,
I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason
I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:
1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.
2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.
or
3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.
I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.
As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.
If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255
Thank you,
Lee__R
