Getting diagnosed with fibromyalgia: Why is it so complicated?

Getting a diagnosis for fibromyalgia can be a real challenge for both patients and doctors. This condition is often diagnosed through a process of elimination, after ruling out other illnesses with similar symptoms. 😕

The widespread pain, chronic fatigue, and sleep disturbances can be confusing, causing many patients to go through a long period of uncertainty before finally receiving a clear diagnosis. On top of that, the lack of awareness and training among some healthcare professionals can worsen the situation, delaying appropriate care and support.

How long did it take for you to get a fibromyalgia diagnosis? What difficulties did you face with doctors during this period of uncertainty? What tests or exams did you undergo before fibromyalgia was identified?
