I get a sharp lingering pain on the right side of my abdomen at times, whether I eat or not. My Dr. wanted to put me on a low doseage of Amitryptilne (Elavil). There was a study in China that showed it helps with pain. I turned it down, because I do not like how that drug affects me.

I've been told by several drs that I have a fatty liver. But then my drs just drop it. They say to change my diet, but that's all. They arent monitoring it or offering any advice. I've had a pressure on my upper right side of stomach for a yr now. Drs are ignoring it. What should I do?

I was told 10 years ago that I had a fatty liver but considering the amount of population that has it I didn't think much about it and the specialist didn't seem concerned either. It wasn't until recently a new doctor seem to be concerned about my enzyme levels. I went in a nash trial and had to be in stage 2 or 3 to be considered. The liver biopsy confirmed that I was in stage 3. If left untreated it can lead into cirrhosis of the liver or cancer. I have started on a drug that hopefully prevents it from getting worse. The medication is already on the market but primarily for another health issue. They are doing this trial in hopes of getting it approved for Nash. My biggest issue is that I deal with chronic fatigue.

Reading these comments the general concessus seems the dx is given with no information or concern. I dont understand. Mine was found during a CT scan for something else. I had to approach my doctor and he is going to check my bilirubin during next routine lab work.
Why is there no concern or information provide

@Chefjohn33 so did you find out why you had blood? Is it red or black? Do you think its a problem with your liver?
Thanks

@Chefjohn33 ok I have diagnoses with fatty liver and diverticulitis and had a colon resection 6 weeks ago and for the last 2 weeks have had red blood in my stool. Seeing the dr Thursday for this. Had blood test 2 weeks ago and most everything was normal liver, kidneys and wbc. Had colonoscopy 2 years ago and showed hemorrhoids and diverticulitis and had endoscopy in march which was good. But I read online that your liver can cause rectal bleeding if your portal vein gets enlarged from the pressure so now I'm worried. Hope we both get answers soon.
