Liver biopsy is usually necessary to detect liver inflammation secondary to NAFLD or NASH.

Did you have to undergo liver biosy? How did you prepare for the procedure? Any tips/advice?

How was the procedure? Any side-effects / consequences?

@cindylou Personally I had a really bad experience, but I think normally it's supposed to be painless like @Ram1948‍ said. They told me not to eat or drink for minimum 6 hours before and they numb the spot where they insert the needle so you don't feel it. For me my blood pressure dropped in the middle so it turned into a whole ordeal, but I think lots of people are up and at it back to normal the next day.

New here . Stage 4 cirrhosis non alcohol liver ( fatty liver) Biopsy was done through the mouth through stomach wall into liver .
portal was scaled 5-10 = 6.7
