I understand this feeling very well. Cancer has its way of putting us all in the darkest of places and making us all feel so alone. Know that you are all not alone in this!

I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in October 2020 and have done 8 treatments of chemo alone. I don't have anyone to talk to about how or what I feel cause everyone just doesn't want to "deal with" me and my ,"situation" as they politely put it. So I just put my brave face on and keeps it moving. Sad to say, but very true

@DannyBass please talk to your wife. Don't just leave. She may be more understanding than you are giving her credit. Plus look into how else to satisfy her and make her happy. As a women sex isn't everything it's just part of our connection to our husbands.

I am sorry what is everyone is going through - unless you go through some kind of cancer journey personally, it is hard for other people in your life to understand because everyone's journey is different, especially if it is because of a weird syndrome no one has ever heard of. And for me I have to do all these yearly scans for the rest of my life - I always thought a colonoscopy and endoscopy always prevented cancer - sometimes also those do is catch it early, which is better than late stage, but not any easier to deal with. I have been on my journey since January 17, 2020 - that was my first encounter with an ob conologist. Fast forward to 2021 and I am 42 in medically-induced menopause since we removed everything. I have Lynch Syndrome which no one has ever heard of, so they try to tell me stories of people they know who had colonoscopy or certain cancers on my "list" which I can get and we screen for. I finally went to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota - they have a lot of resources for cancer patients and support I haven't been able to find anywhere else. You could at least consider calling Mayo clinic if you want more options. I follow at the menopause clinic which is really helpful because all my doctors back home ignore that piece of my medical history - they think I am too young. It has been a long road but I have found a few things along the way that helps me - hot yoga, physical therapy for my weak muscles, doing a photo memory book with pics of me as a kid for my boys - distracts me from the pain some days, making pancakes for my kids - the little things. What some people take for granted - making pancakes seems like a simple thing but for a year I didn't have the energy so weekends mornings I can do that is huge. And if you are having a tough day - you need someone to just listen sometimes. If I can offer any help or insight, let me know. I am still figuring it out but I am in a better place than I was in 2020 - took me a long time to get here and we are talking more surgeries.

Contact your cancer team. They have Drs you can talk to. The available sources they have for patients is mind blowing. They can get you help with paying your bill. You shouldn't have to go through radiation or chemo and worry about your bill or how your family will make it. Talk to your case worker he or she will direct you in right direction.
