So just another update, incase something here helps.
back in December I had another, if the many low level CT scans checking for lung cancer, it showed one of the nodules in my upper right quadrant had doubled in size in less the 15 months, not a good sign.
so had a followup ct scan last month, the radiologist, in the report stated, that the fibrosis and honeycombing is at a state that makes it hard to impossible to view nodules, so recommended that I no longer be part of this type of cancer screening.
my PFT has not changed since last December, so my pulmonologist is asking for a second review of CT scan by a different radiologists , possible from ne of the teaching hospitals in the St. Louis area.
though during the discussion, even if this were to prove leaning towards cancer, there is not much treatment that would most likely help.. Because the fibrosis is wide spread and increasing, any form of surgery is off the table, or as a couple of surgeons stated, they would not do surgery unless, without it! I would die, NOW, like traumatic accident! Gun shot wound. They stated I would have a high probability of not making it off the table.
other treatments, for such as cancer are radiation and chemo. Radiation is also not a good choice, due to it having a high probability of causing more lung damage, and we have all heard of the side affects that chemo has, as one of my nephews who works in Chemistry/biology lab says, chemo kills the bad stuff, but equally kills the good just as efficiently.
as one person here stated, their doctor said f feet move your on oxygen, that pretty much answers my question of what is considered strenuous
I am lucky now, don’t need oxygen when sleeping, and only use 2-3 liters during the day, unless I am on the treadmill then I will take it up to 4-5.
i recover quickly still.
so that is my latest pulmonary news, we won’t talk about the rheumatoid arthritis or kidney stones, but as my rheumatologist stated, inflammatory diseases affect the entire body, sometime only certain areas, sometime the whole body, and not always all the time, but both pulmonary and rheumatoid think my lungs were the first affected, and slowly the rest reacts at time.
hope all had a good Christmas and new years, don’t drink to much green beer on St Paddy’s day, of course true Irishmen would not drink green beer, but Guinness at room temperature

I personally have bronchiectasis. But my husband was just diagnosed with stage four non small cell lung cancer with metastasis to spine and hips/pelvis. So I'm caring for him and myself. It's so hard some days I feel like I'm going to fall over from grief And exhaustion.

Evaluator
Cobd, probably 15 years (I am 74 this year). I am comfortable with my team - finally. I have been struggling with getting a portable Oxygen Concentrator for ten years. Have spoken with support members to the State level. I can tell you that you have to learn from experience how to deal with the "OH, that's awful"

Can we be prescribed anything for the anxiety caused by shortness of breath (dyspnea)?

In order to deal with any anxiety during sob episodes, I try to focus on an object while concentrating on deep breathing exercises until it's under control. Works well for me. I'm a firm believer in no more meds than absolutely necessary.
