I am sorry to hear about this struggle. From my research and knowledge of lupus, it caused inflammation, and one of the tissues that can be affected is the brain. Therefore, if the brain is inflamen and affected it can caused symptoms like headaches, but patients do also experience some forms of pyschosis.
Psychosis would likely be the general term to classify the delusions. This can likely be treated/controlled by controlling the inflammatory process of lupus and also antipsychotic drugs.
I would recommend talking with your doctor and informing him/her of your symptoms and see what they recommend. Is your doctor aware of such symptoms.

@mickey we currently do not have a chat room on this site at this time. You can post on the forums any topic you would like to discuss for members to respond. You can also private message members.
Please let me know if you need any assistance doing either.

@Lee_R is correct. However, some medications we use for lupus to control the inflammation can actually increase the likelihood of experiencing mood issues or delusional thinking as mentioned by the poster...

I get headaches once in a while but never realized it could be from lupus. I have both lupus and arthritis.

@mickey I am sorry to hear about your depression and about the passing of your mother. I hope you find the support of the members here at Carenity. If you are suffering from depression, I recommend also that you seek out help, perhaps speaking with a counselor may help.
Also we have a forum dedicated to depression and mental illnesses where you can communicate with other members suffering from the similar condition. To have access to these forums, you just simply need to hover your mouse over the "GET INFORMED" link above and click "MY CONDITIONS" and then "ADD CONDITION." At the ADD CONDITION screen, simply type in depression, select, and you will have access to the forums by going to MY GROUPS or the home screen.
Check out the depression forum by clicking this link: https://member.carenity.ushttps://www.carenity.us/forum/autism-spectrum-disorder/living-with-behavioural-disorders-mental-illne-49
I also recommend you create your own discussion in the LUPUS forum and/or the depression forum and discuss your concerns so other members can respond directly to your post and concerns.
We want you to exercise caution when sharing your personal information on the public chat, so if you wish to delete your personal information you shared, simply click EDIT and delete or I can do it for you at any time upon your request.

Hi Michele,
i have almost no family and am alone as well. I understand the depression the holidays can bring on and mine too haven’t been the same since I lost my mother. Your mom is always your best friend. I’m here to chat if you ever need to. Just message me. Best to you and please hang in there.

I am new to this sight. I have had the symptoms for years but hadn’t been diagnosed until recently. It took my symptoms to be monumental before I found a doctor that knew what he was looking at. I suffer with depression, hyperparathyroidism and the doctor wants to do surgery. I am currently on medication for the neuropathy and the depression and vitamin d3 due to a deficiency.
I too lost my mother several years back. The holidays are hard for me too. She died just before Thanksgiving. She was the family’s motivator and my best friend. My family are my support. But I want to reach to people that understand what I am going through.

Does anyone suffer from delusional thinking at times? I have been having more episodes of this (as a result of Lupus, I believe) and am not myself and not sure how to cope. I do yoga and workout but at times have no energy. Any advice would be helpful.
