I was diagnosed with NAFLD after a lot of blood tests and an ultrasound. The doctor asked if I had questions. I had lost 75lbs and he told me to try and lose another 20. He told me to Google diet for NAFL, then googled it for me. Next, he perscribed another blood test to check for if I had fibrosis. It showed I had F1-F2 fibrosis and necroinflamant activity A0 to A1. I see him again in 6 months.

Diagnosed in December 2016 by ER doctor. Saw my personal physician. Recommended I lose weight. Never could. Lose 5 gain 10 back. Dr suggested I download some apps. Downloaded MyFitnessPal and Health2sync. Started waking more. Lost 100 pounds in 2017. Gained 10 lbs in 2018 mostly from stress of caring for my husband with end stage COPD. I’ve googled lots of healthy foods for NAFLD. I concentrate on eating healthy. I also lowered my A1C from 7.9 to 5.5 I feel healthy even with 4 surgeries in 2017 and one surgery in 2018. Bone spurs in shoulder and thumb and CMC joint on right side and bone spur and 95% tear in rotator cuff on left shoulder. And one toe straighten and excess cartilage removed after callus removal. Seeing another dr for shots in hands to treat dupuytrens. Take life one day at a time and do the best y can

I was diagnosed in 2017 by my primary doctor, (after 4yrs of my pain management doctor trying to find the source of all the inflammation.) I wasn't given any plan or advice about living with nafld, what I learned, I've learned on my own...however everything ive tried on my own fails. Now I get horrible nausea and hurt in the liver area almost daily, I've gained over 50lbs and continue to gain weight. Im still going from doctor to doctor trying to get something done!

I have an enlarged fatty liver. Been years. I am having more testing done. I cry every night about 3-4 hours after dinner. I get sharp shooting pains near or in liver. Still waiting for all tests to be done and results. I do know I have IBS, GERD, Barrett's Esophagus, gas, bloating, some bouts of diarrhea. I am tired of the pain. I get scared to eat.

One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
What has been your experience? Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
