I was told in 2014 that there was a cyst on my liver, and that I had fatty liver disease. They found it when doing a PET scan to see where or if my cancer had spread, I was newly diagnosed at the time. No plan or explanations to go on, with the exception that I needed to lose weight. I have scans periodically, still a cancer patient, they say the cyst is not growing and is no big deal. They never mention the fatty liver.

Hello everyone I was diagnosed with NASH last year after liver biopsy. From what one been told is NASH is the second stage of NAFLD and that most doctors think NASH and NAFLD are the same but they are misinformed. NASH Is fatty liver with inflammation. There is no cure and thru they don’t know why some people NAFLD turns to NASH, and some do not. They say that only about 10% of people who have NAFLD will progress to NASH. It het frustrated they Drs just use ot yo the side and say loose weight and don’t take it seriously.

Diagnosed in Feb 2018. Liver is enlarged. Liver biopsy 2/2018. Showed NASH with stage 4 fibrosis and early cirrhosis. Ultrasound showed 2cm lesion in 12/2018. MRI didn’t see lesion. Has pain. Terrible itching. No energy. Does anyone have thinking issues? Did you know this causes shrinking of brain too? Hoping to hear if anyone has itching.

My liver is getting bigger and all the doctor can say is try to lose weight, because there isn't ant medicine to help me. I have been trying to lose weight for 2 years and all I can do is gain more. I have been swelling up at times.

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. Sometimes I get a sharp pain on my right side and it's unbearable at times. I've tried the Mediterranean diet and I haven't lost any weight.

My daughter was diagnosed with fatty liver several years ago. All they said was for her to lose weight also. Diagnosis came after positive hep test and they told me it could be cuz of liver. They did ultrasound and found that's what it was- false positive result for hep d/t fatty liver. She is 16 now. Anyone here have suggestions for her?

I was diagnosed with NAFLD quite a fews back and the dr also told me to lose weight. I cut out the sugar and have lost 14 pounds but I am still having pain on my right side and now I also have been diagnosed with a fatty pancreas. I havent been able to get a bioplsy done yet. Is there any meds to help with it?

One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
What has been your experience? Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
