@susieandbrooks That is the problem with many of us here. You are not alone. I think that is the problem! The doctors tell us about our diagnosis and send us on our way ... leaving us without any true understanding of what is going on

I have a Liver doctor now because my gastro dr seen the images of my liver and said it looked bad. Your reg physician has no clue about what to do with the Liver. You have to see specialist if you need treated.

I was diagnosed 6 months ago with NA cirrhosis. Since then have had 3 bandings of my throat for bleeding. Super B complex seems to help with this. My doctor thinks a transplant is my only option.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis right now they are saying it's nash. They told me over the phone, then I went in and they've done all the blood work, was told to lose weight keep my sugars under control. My A1c is a 6.1 but I ha ulcerative colitis which is closing my bile duct . I have gastropahrisis, a ilestomy due to the U.C. I'm in stage 3 of renal failure next step is a biopsy of the liver and results of my blood work oh and somehow I had mononucleosis. Was just diagnosed with the cirrhosis in January out of the blue. Was told by gi would have to come in every 3 months . Just don't know what to expect I am losing weight cause I don't have a appitette . Some days I am fine some days I am tired don't have a lot of energy. I think it is just the not knowing what to expect next

My NAFLD began 2 Thanksgivings 2017...i had a real bad stomach ache. Later in I vomited blood. I had to have 8 bands on my esophagus that night. I almost died. Since then I have had a total of 19 bands placed in me. My doctor referred me to UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER - LIVER TRANSPLANT TEAM. I was diagnosed with NAFLD with nash secondary. I will need a liver transplant eventually...and that kind of scares me. They did a TIPSS procedure on me this past December 10th. They say the TIPSS procedure went well. But since that time my left hand shakes a lot...and it makes it hard to write or hold things. Also I seem to lose my balance a lot. My next step is to see a Neurologist next month. I still do not feel 100% at this time. Has anyone else experienced the shaky hands or lost of balance? would love some feedback from those that have experienced this. Thank you

I was told I had nonalcohol fatty liver. I was put on high colestrol meds. I also have read that celiac disease can cause fatty liver. I dont have too much pain with mine but with lung cancer and asthma going on I think I have let other things go . I am in remission with the cancer but I worry cancer may spread to liver.

One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
What has been your experience? Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
