My wife, stepson and I have all had the Covid-19 vaccine (Pfizer.) We understand it may NOT prevent infection with Covid, but that any effects would be milder, avoiding hospitalization or death. My wife and I wear masks in public, and avoid extra trips that might put us in harm's way. She is being treated for Leukemia, and her immune system is compromised as a result, so we're extra cautious about being in public. We do NOT sit in restaurants, but often do takeout or delivery. We avoid large crowds and mostly stay at home. At my place of work, everyone (staff AND clients) must wear a mask, keep social distancing, wash hands often and otherwise follow the suggested actions to prevent infection. So far, so good, none of us three has been infected.

@huggybus02 Actually, the antivirus took YEARS to develop. “Operation Warp Speed” had nothing to do with its progress. Donald John Trump likes to take credit for the hard work of many, many scientists.

I got the Moderna vaccine both doses. It has been 6 months since my last dose. Three days ago I received the booster.

@Kkma4000 I was told that the third dose for the immunosuppressant is actually a full third dose of the Moderna, not a booster, if and when you get it in New Jersey

@Nita58 I have COPD and my pulmonologist not only recommended the vaccine but, as he is also a critical care specialist, he was able to administer it himself - which he did.

I am one of the 2percent breakthrough, I've had the Regenoron treatment, shortly after coming down with the Viruse, I am into my 6 week of coughing, with frequent clear mucus coming up. No temperature now, had in the beginning upset stomach covering both ends only once of each, and about three bad headachs, including two migraines. Oh, did I mention no energy at all, especially in the beginning and no appetite for five days, just forced myself to drink water. I am a Cancer survivor, this was worse than that! The Regenoron treatment and being vaccinated kept me out of the hospital! Doctors told me up front that the reason why I am Alive Today is because I got vaccinated! I got this viruse even though I faithfully wore my Kn95 mask and washed my hands! I know exactly how I got this, I invited a neighbor over for dinner thinking that it would be ok since we were both vaccinated it would be safe only he did not tell me he knew before hand he had the viruse but felt well enough to come for dinner, and he wasn't vaccinated. He never told me, I found out by my apartment manager after I came down with it. I had two other immediate neighbors who also came down with it too all because of this same neighbor who did not wear a mask. These three neighbors did not believe in getting vaccinated nor wearing a mask with! They all landed in the hospital with Covid and two of them almost died. They are home now, still will not wear their mask and will not be vaccinated! I think they are Crazy or just plain Stupid. Other than this they are Good Neighbors! I wish I could sue the neighbor whom I invited over for dinner! I am a young 71 year old!

@Roberta The same thing happened to my daughter. A neighbor lied. However, as a result my daughter did get Covid. She was treated successfully for the disease itself but still has some of the after-effects of having had it in the first place, some of which may be permanent.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany), as well as Moderna (USA), announced last month that their vaccine candidates are around 94 and 95% "effective" in preventing COVID-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trials, which are still ongoing.
Earlier this week, the White House Coronavirus Task Force was in discussion about the FDA approval (slated for December 10th at the earliest), with rumors of a vaccine launch as early as the week of December 14th!
What do you think about this? Would you be interested in getting vaccinated against COVID-19 once the vaccine is available?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
