YOU are not a freak of nature! I have a “bag” from bladder cancer 7 years ago. I now have a treatable , but not curable new cancer….multiple myeloma. I feel that we are lucky that treatments are available today.

I have jaw cancer. According to the PET it is contained and not spreading. I have surgery in January. Dr says its about an 8 hour surgery with at least a week stay.

Good evening my name is Angelo... I was first diagnosed with cancer close to a year ago last December 23rd I came home from work and the left side of my body especially my leg and foot seems like they were extremely weak for some reason I wound up falling in my apartment three times finally I went to the ER they did a migraine came back and told me that I had a stage 4 melanoma tumor a pretty large one in my head and I needed to have surgery ASAP to remove it... I had a very good neurosurgeon who was able to remove 95% of the tumor in my head. My main source was a swollen lymph node underneath my right armpit I had to do three sessions of CyberKnife radiation with a literally bolt you to a table for 45 minutes to an hour where you can't move so much as a millimeter. I'm currently going through immunotherapy treatment and responded very well to that just happened difficulties with side effects mainly a colitis condition... Also still have nerve damage permanent nerve damage I'm told from the tumor sitting on my nerve endings for too long where my left leg and foot are slightly numb when I get out of a vehicle it's like my leg wants to stay in there I have to literally pull it out and said come on we're going...lol... From what I understand and from what I have seen first hand a positive attitude is the key to success with cancer treatment... Your mind is a very very powerful thing and if you keep on telling yourself that the cancer is going to beat you then yes eventually the cancer is going to wind up getting you but if you keep telling yourself that you are going to get control of it and that you were going to have a normal life or as close to a normal life as you possibly can then you will achieve it... Thank you for letting me express myself and tell my story... As far as I know I'm a rare group who has had melanoma in their head...

I have Stage 4 Renal Cell Cancer. I have 3 tumors in my chest and 1 tumor on my adrenal gland. I also have 2 benign tumors on my pituitary gland causing adrenal insufficiency and extreme fatigue. I've had 5 occurrences. 1st in 2000 I had a left kidney nephrectomy. In 2003 2nd occurrence in sacral bone. Underwent 36 radiation treatments and 2 months of daily Interluken II shots that made me extremely sick. 2005 I had my 3rd occurrence again in sacral bone. I did 5 treatments of high powered, very targeted radiation called Norvalis. I also did 9 months of chemo with daily pills called sorafanib. 2017 4 occurrence had nodule removed from left lung. No further treatment. 5th occurrence I described earlier. I started infusion therapy with Keytruda. First treatment put me in a metabolic coma, killed my pancreas and made me type 1 Diabetic. After I recovered I began bi-weekly infusion treatments with AVASTIN. It's been fairly tolerable. Typically low energy the week after. It also causes heavy sinus congestion with headaches. I also have had serious mouth sores. The AVASTIN has reduced or maintained the size of all 4 tumors with no additional tumors showing up on quarter scans.

My husband diagnosed with esophageal cancer stage 3. Has gone through chemo and has 5 more treatments of radiation left. He was to get one more dose of chemo but the doctor stopped it because his blood pressure was dropping low. 5 more radiation appointments to go before surgery to remove the tumor. I'm here for knowledge , understanding, acceptance, support and friendship as we walk this journey of our lives.

Hello everyone,
I hope you're doing well.
This group contains many different types of cancer. Though you may have different forms of cancer, I think there is somewhat of a shared experience across cancer types in this forum.
Let's hear about you and your story! What kind of cancer do or did you have? How were you diagnosed? How are you doing now?
Feel free to share you story, your experiences, your advice, and support here!
