Hi all. Hoping wellness. I do know, for a fact, weather affects mood. I have seasonal affective disorder ( SAD). My down times are fall & winter. I take antidepressants all year, &, even when it's a dreary summer day, I use my full spectrum light. Very helpful!!! Had depression all my adult life. Sucks, but does not define me. I'm Peggy first. What are others thoughts? Thx.

@Courtney_J I think the weather has a great impact on your mood, your feelings, your emotions, etc. I know for me, I hate, like really hate when it is so sunny out and bright out. I much prefer being in a darkened room. The bright light/sun makes my anxiety go up and it attracts more people out and about and I have terrible social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder as well. I am the type of person who prefers a nice cloudy, not too hot, not too cold, with a gentle breeze out, one where I can sit on my back deck and enjoy nature and be with my music. I have a friend who is the total opposite of that. I find myself, though, isolated by feeling this way. I guess you can say I sorta bring on the depression on myself, but it is who I am, and it is how and where I feel the most comfortable. I'm more of a private person, always have been, and don't feel comfortable socializing when it is "nice" outside. But to answer your question, absolutely, the weather can affect a person. Each person is different, and that makes us unique in a way, I guess.

Yes, I believe weather does affects mood. As I was growing up on cold days, I was happier than the summer hot days.

@Courtney_J I don't like heat or too much sun. I love rain, thunder and lightening. I also prefer cool weather even snow.

@DebiD1957. I, too, dislike too much sun. I had skin cancer years ago, & still go to doc for 6 month check ups. Been fine since it was removed. Never needed chemo, radiation. Just plucked it out. Not fan of snow, yet light rain is ok. Thunder, lightening freak me out, sort of. Lived thru straight line wind as a kid, & anything along lines of dark skies worries me. Straight line, as all trees fell same way. Thx for input. Keep cool!!

Weather definitely has an impact on me. Though I do not like heat and humidity, I do feel much better on sunny days.
On dark days - rainy days or short winter days - my full spectrum lights help.

I am sure that the weather affects the mood and well-being, and it’s not even about weather dependence. For example, I can't stand the heat well, and therefore I don't have enough energy on warm days. When it rains or snows, I feel better. But I am sensitive to a sharp change in the weather, then I always feel bad

Of course, the weather affects the mood. When it rains, snows, or is cold, I often don't feel like doing anything. Sometimes only cannabis saves me. I even started growing it myself. [This content has been moderated by an administrator.]
I wish everyone a great mood, regardless of the weather!
