Hi Elaine,
You are not alone..I often feel depressed and isolated. I am trying to find some things I used to enjoy...like taking a walk..water aerobics..or photo books..I too am 60 years and my husband does not understand. We can get thru this depression..Just hang in...the future is always possible for better days. Don't give up HOPE..

@MSDESTIN My wife doesn't understand depression. We're having marital problems and I went into therapy, my therapist wanted her to come in also, she refused and bought a dartboard instead. Yeah, I couldn't make this stuff up.

@Llind60 Hi Ms. Lind
Hang in there...things will get better..try focusing on doing one positive thing for your self a day...take a walk it will give you energy..even if you do not feel like it. Take a bubble bath..read...somehting small that you like. I was in a very depressed stage also. But we have to take some action or nothing will change. I understand your loneliness..your loss of energy loss of interest...But things can get better..Just take one day at a time...and focus on doing one small nice act for your self. God loves you and I am sure there are others in you famliy who would really miss you. Also try being around some kids..Kids really can lift your spirit. Please keep in touch...

Judy I go through the same thing at times. We can hide from everyone and everything just by sleeping.

Let's Talk Mental Illness.
Living with someone who has mental illness is very stressfully and depressing in itself. My only advice is for you to get educated on what he is dealing with, and take care of yourself. NAMI has a friends and family support system that you would benefit from greatly. Please click on my link above that will direct you to my YouTube channel where I discuss many different areas concerning mental illness. I have a video specifically for friends and family members of those diagnosed with mental illness. The more you can learn about your partner's condition, the more you will be able to help him and yourself. God bless.

@Rissahalol9989 I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. Would you be willing to privately discuss this with me, I would love to learn more. I run a You Tube Channel to discuss and support different types of mental illness. I am diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and several others. I will also attach the link to my YouTube channel on this post if you would like to see what I do with my videos. Let's Talk Mental Illness . I hope to see you there. We can help each other's and possibly more.
God bless, Gina

I feel blue at different times of the day. I enjoy coloring though and it gets my mind off things. I go to Walmart and I feel better, when I afforded the things I buy.

@mrjrbtlr72 yes I enjoy coloring too. I will see if I can post one of mine. It puts my focus on what I am doing instead of my circumstances and what's in my head. I actually have a video on my YouTube channel on Art Therapy that discusses this and shows examples of my work. My Art Therapy .
I have lot's of videos of discussion concerning Mental Illness on my You Tube Channel. The series is called Let's Talk Mental Illness. I would love for you to visit my channel and subscribe so you can be alerted of new video and new discussion topics concerning many components of mental illness. I can only get the word out by literally word of mouth. I used to run a support group for DBSA years ago. So I was taught a lot in order to run my group.

@donald923 yes just knowing that you are not alone is SO IMPORTANT to all of us living with Mental Illness. I used to run a DBSA support group and we were taught so much about helping others as well as ourselves, just by being able to talk to people who understand. I have wanted to be able to start another group but because of my circumstances and the pandemic I have not been able to do so. So I started a You Tube Channel to be able to reach out to people and have discussions about things that we deal with. The video series that I have for this I call Let's Talk Mental Illness I would love for you to stop by and watch some of them, then share with others that you know that would benefit from peer support, and then subscribe to be alerted when I post new videos. I know this would help you. ☺️

Yes, I now saw your problem, but unfortunately I could not see any more or less suitable solution for your situation. Apparently, you are starting to have a deep depression, and one of the best ways to get out of this state is considered to be high-quality cannabis from a dispensary.
