Hello Carenity Members,

I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason

I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:

1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.

2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.

3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.

I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.

As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.

I’m feeling sad because of my relationship with my dad, especially around the holifays,,,I have issue with my stepmother,,,sad but true

I am just in a situation with no one at all to talk to. I am very depressed. My doctor just increased my Prozac and I was in a support group but it was very one sided so I left it.

@gamabama22 well as of right now you’re in the right place and I haven’t been in this group long but as far as I know the people in this group are great. I’m on Zoloft and I was lucky enough to find a support group & counselor that I really clicked with but that took time. I’m here if you want to talk or a shoulder just shoot me a message or post 🤗

I am looking for another support group. The one I was in last was not very helpful. No one wanted to try and move forward and I have zero friends to talk to

@gamabama22 I know the feeling you can be surrounded by a bunch of people and still feel alone but you’re not alone as long as you’re here. Like I said before it takes time to find a councilor and a support group that you click with but keep looking and trying 🤗

I have been depressed for 5 years and I have had anxiety for the past 10 years. I'm not taking any medication as I don't want to depend on it. I have lost 3 people who have ment the world to me and this will be the hardest holiday I've done since last year was the last Christmas I had with my grandpa and this is my first year without him.

2020 has been hell but add in the holiday plus mental illness & loss you have a recipe for heart ache and I’m so sorry for your loss. Have you tried finding a counselor therapist psychiatrist and a group such as this one that you can trust to help and as far as meds you should reconsider it and figure out what works add in talk therapy will help. I have been on a couple of different meds till I was put on Zoloft and with the addition of a great group and a great counselor it has helped even though I still have my issues I and some days are better than others but I’m learning how to work through all of it, 🤗
