You need to stay strong don't ever give up, everyone has a cross that they have to carry us we got a disease but we're still here so make life the best you can, I know you want to drink when your depressed try to get into a craft that you like. I spoke with my doctor about my depression and they put me on canibis and cbd due to me not wanting to take pills, it really has helped with both my depression and my pain levels.
I'm here if you want to chat.

@mando99 I too used alcohol to deal with depression. It worked to numb the serious pain of childhood traumas as they surfaced; then it quit working and made me more depressed. It is a depressant after all. Before I became an alcoholic, I would not touch alcohol or any depressant when going through loss but with this stuff, I was overwhelmed. I have been sober 3 years and things have slowly gotten better. Pills don't work on me anymore (i.e., antidepressants) so the spiritual approach made the difference. Just consider it, AA, but no pressure. Bless you!!

@shaelynkutis I had my first bout with depression in college when multiple negative things intersected. You know like a break up, death of my father, car accident, poisoning. Sorry you are down. Try to be around uplifting people. It also helps to help another even if its just calling to see how someone else is feeling. It gets us out of our heads and our negative thoughts and into productive action. I feel for you!!

I finally got off Prozac several months prior to Covid and was elated. Then about 4 months in to Covid I had to give in and go back on it and was devastated and no one to talk to. I do understand Not wanting to take anything believe me. I lost my son on Thanksgiving 2015 and sometimes it seems it will never get easier. I do feel for you losing 3 people. That is extremly hard. If you ever need to vent or chat I am here.
I am so holding on desperately that this next year I can go visit my sister in Kentucky, I saw almost no one in 2020

Hello Carenity Members,
I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason
I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:
1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.
2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.
or
3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.
I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.
As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.
If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255
Thank you,
