I was diagnosed about 4 yrs ago and that was the end of any conversation about it now my stomach has become bigger and I have complained about this knot repeated times at bottom of my ribs in middle they keep saying it's nothing . I just recently got health insurance but only because I adopted my 4 yr old great niece

When I was first diagnosed the doctors didn’t seem too concerned. That all changed after my diagnosis of cancer; then all of a sudden it became a big deal. Big deal I say because all my oncologist would talk about is how it was poor choices on my part that led to it. Excuse Me??? I didn’t get for anything that I did, I’m convinced that they either don’t want to treat it or don’t know what to do. Uggh

I was diagnosed NAFLD about 4 months ago. I met with the doctor and he said that it is serious. Told me to try to lose another 20lbs. (I have lost 70 since mid March). He told me to google diet and he would see me in a year. He ordered another blood test to find out if I have fibroids. I got that done and showed I have stage 1-2 fibroids.

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. Nothing has been explained to me what it is or how I got this or even if there is a treatment. I also have painful knots in my stomach area and was told that it was diverticulitis. I feel like I’m on the outside looking in and have no clue to what I’m seeing. Anyone else feel left in the dark?

I was diagnosed in 1984. Went to the Dr because my stomach swelled and I had pain right below my ribs on the right side. They said the pain is not part of the liver problem because there are no pain fibers in the liver. That's the last anyone ever said anything about it

I was told that I am in stage 4 with Nash after a biopsy and told now there’s nothing I can do. I was directed into a research study now for ten months. I am taking a medication not FDA approved yet since there is no medication that works yet. Medication called selonsitib anyway I take it every day. Will see what happens once I complete one year on meds. Learned on web about vitamin E so I take that too. I have changed my eating habits and lost 12 lbs threw exercise. So that’s where I am at now! Thanks

One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
What has been your experience? Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
