My problem is I truly do not think I am type 2! I feel the doctors I have seen have just been to quick trying to be done that they just say type 2. I need to find a doctor who takes time with me and I feel comfortable with him/her.

@Vpayne The dean of my husband's department at the local technical college was improperly diagnosed as T2DM, but he's actually LADA. It took him getting a second opinion and getting a referral to an endochrinologist to figure everything out. I sometimes feel I was misdiagnosed because all it took was a look at blood sugar that was elevated while I was sick and a doctor that was quick to want to prescribe every medication under the sun.

For me it’s management, always having to have your supplies at hand.

For me it’s my Dr.Pepper addiction.I struggle with that so badly my last A1C was a 7.8 not good.Knowing that my mom and dad both are diabetic doesn’t help the matter for me.It’s almost like I received my sentence before I had a chance to fix the problem.

As with many others who have commented, the most frustrating thing is the diet and others around not really understanding why I refuse to eat certain foods. It really frustrates me when someone says oh you can have it just this once or you can have a small bite! Like just let me turn the food down. Everyone seems to have an opinion on how a diabetic should eat...I have people telling carnivore is the way to go, go keto, go plant based (no thank you I love meat and my family will make my dietary restrictions that much more difficult because they won't change to plant based), etc. What most people don't understand is that there is no one way for every diabetic to eat. Everyone's body is different and will react differently to the same foods. Everyone's diabetes is different and is there for different reasons. The diet is frustrating because it's overwhelming with the amount of contradicting information out there. It's no wonder people don't really know what and how to eat. I got no guidance from my doctor when I was diagnosed in February as to where she would like my glucose numbers to be, when to check my glucose, etc. She wanted to prescribe medicine and see me at my next appointment. The only thing I'm taking is slow acting insulin at night and I have managed to get my numbers down from mid 300's in February to low 100's sometimes staying under 100 throughout the day. I'm still new, I'm still experimenting with different foods to see how my body responds to them. I was also insulin resistant and my cholesterol was slightly elevated so I also have to think about those issues as well to try to figure out what I can eat to balance my sugar, help with insulin sensitivity, and lower my LDL and raise my HDL. It's exhausting and my brain is ready to go on vacation without me.

Hi ,
My name is Nancy. I have had type 2 diabetes for 23 years. I am insulin dependent. I take both fast acting and extended release insulin. I have Charcot Foot, diabetic Retinopathy, and gastroparesis. It is so hard to deal with. Finding food to eat is hard as well. What kinds of foods are easy for someone with gastroparesis to digest?

The most frustrating things for me is not being able to get my mounjuro because of shortages. I've gone a whole month without it before and it's not looking like the shortage is getting any better soon.

Hello all,
How are you doing?
Type 2 diabetes, like most chronic conditions, can challenge aspects of life or make one feel frustrated. I thought today we could talk about those challenges.
What is the most difficult or frustrating aspect of living with type 2 diabetes? Is it related to your diabetes care and management, or is it related to something external? Is it the lack of support or understanding from others, the need to closely monitor blood sugar levels, the need to watch weight and diet? Feel free to share here!
