Coronavirus and asthma - should I stop using my inhalers?

I am a 72 year old female with long history of asthma. I use Symbicort, Albuterol and use nebulizer when have a flare. Three weeks ago I had fever, body aches, headache and malaise. Then nausea. Day 5 woke up with fever, intense chest presssure/pain and couldn’t breathe. Called primary and she said I had COVID-19 and should go to hospital. At hospital gave me 60mgs Prednisome and 6 puffs  Albeuterol. Chest xray and checked my heart. Negative for flu. Said I probably had COVID-19 but could not give me test because I was not critical and sent me home. Prescribed 60mg Prednisone for 5 days and continue Symbicort and Albueterol and monitor my oxygen with a Pulse Oximeter. The next 5 days I could not breathe, chest pressure was relentless, extreme fatigue and no appetite. Called pulmonologist who said I needed to taper off immediately because dangerous with Covid-19. Lost 10#s and now at 20mg /4 day of tapering. I had put myself in self isolation week before got sick and have continued now for 3 weeks. I hope this was COVID-19 so I can have some immunity and be able to help someone. Now I worry that it wasn’t and now I am at super high risk. 

@restsound you should Never cut down on your medicine without properly consulting your doctor. No no here should be giving advise that should be reserved for doctors recommendations especially when it pertains to lifesaving medicine like inhalers

I had a Asthma flair up and Dr gave me prednisone and cough Tablets and doing better.  And def feel better. 

I am considering going back Home to Bmore from VA Been nervous of the travel but def ready to go Home. Any suggestions in not traveling or anything...

Any suggestions. 4wks ago started having coughing and asthma attacks pretty bad went to our urgent care prescribe prednisone and two new inhalers. long story short three weeks later I had gotten worse. Weak, low grade fever, oxygen lower then normal go too urgent care again. At the point they tested me. came back 24hours later i was negative a week goes by i start back on presidone and I'm back where i was chest feeling heavy and feeling no air moving through my body I just wonder did i have it and why is steroids making me bad agai . Anyone have this problem

@Alxscrz I’m in the same boat as you I’m so scared..my husband was tested positive and he thankfully after almost 3 weeks is doing fine...I lived in the house with him keeping clear of him..FaceTiming him whenever he needed anything and made sure we stayed away from each other..as of now I’m doing good (knock on wood) taking all of my daily asthma meds taking vitamins and drinking hot liquids.. but I fear everyday.. been suffering from major anxiety.. so many things I hear it’s making me sick and I know I need to stay healthy and strong.. my husband is symptom free docs said he should be fine now but won’t retest him.. still so scared to sleep in the same room with him and still serve him from afar and keeping distant..hurts me emotionally so bad because I miss him so.. he’s actually going back to work on Thursday he’s a clerk for the USPS.. so I’m like you..I need answers 😢

Staying positive, spending time alone in the fresh air and sunshine. My hobbies keep me occupied. Still anxious at times.Had to get a new nebulizer a couple of weeks ago. I also have an essential oil diffuser I use to help clean the air in my home. 

@Readybird19641! You should be fine with all your inhalers.
