@Readybird19641! Proair is the generic form of albuterol do you should not need both. Unless one is an inhaler and one is a nebulizer? I am a respiratory therapist and an asthmatic.

@Readybird19641! I'm now on a new rescue inhaler that just came out this year called Airsupra and it has been helping me tremendously. I haven't had COVID for 2 years though. My asthma got way worse and I was sick for 5 months and it took my allergist to get me to feeling better figuring out it was my asthma flaring up really bad

Hi Juan. Yes they will say treat it as covid for now just to quarantine if any other symptoms arise. I was diagnosed with Covid and never caught a fever, minimal coughing due to having asthma. But the difference and what made them decide to test me was that, none of my treatments was working not even prednisone. I continued to go back to the doctor/hospital X-ray was always clear. But the very last time I went they decided to test me because I work in the hospital and it made no sense for me to keep going back to work if I did in fact have covid. But each time they would tell me treat it as covid and stay home

@Domonae They don't always say don't take your medication and treat as COVID because I have severe persistent asthma, which is the most life threatening and dangerous type of severe asthma than anyone could ever have and I had COVID-19 2 years ago and I see an allergist that is board certified to do patients like me with the most life threatening and dangerous asthma and he told me to do my rescue inhaler and nebulizer every 4 to 6 hours.

No , Albuterol doesn't affect you with corona virus because I had it 2 years ago and I have severe persistent asthma, which is the most dangerous and life threatening than any other type of severe asthma anyone could ever have and I see an allergist that is board certified to do patients like me with the most life threatening asthma and he told me to keep using my rescue inhaler and nebulizer every 4 to 6 hours until I was over it.

Hey,
I haven't been on in a while since I've been busy, but with this coronavirus epidemic I'm a bit worried. Since the virus is so hard on the respiratory system I'm worried that my inhalers (I'm on Albuterol and Qvar) are putting me at a greater risk. Do you think we should cut down our use of them? Especially the Qvar? I've heard that steroids really do a number on the immune system. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?
Thanks.
