@asth89 Hello asthm89, thank you for sharing the tip!
Hi all, how have you been coping with wearing a mask? Are you able to handle it? Do you use an exemption card? Do you have any mask tips or tricks to share with us?

@asth89 Huh, I'll have to try to get my hands on some of those. I've been wearing homemade ones and I agree sometimes they can be too thick and make it hard to breath. I haven't tried to get an exemption card because there's been so many people in the news pretending they have breathing problems to not wear one and I don't want people to think I'm one of those.

Breathing issues may be possible, but you can use the latest breathable mask, which helps a lot for asthma patients.

I have had asthma since I was 17 years old. When I first developed asthma I was working for a printmaking lab and between the harsh chemicals and wearing a gas mask on the daily, I had to quit. Now I'm 39 and I work for a hospital. Due to Covid 19 we have to wear PPE basically all day. It took me 3 -4 years to try and control my asthma, but I was able to do it. I simply eliminated the main factor that was causing it. When I'm home, I feel ok. Because I am able to distance myself from others and wear a mask minimally. But at the hospital I wear it 5 days a week up to 5 or 6 straight hours a day, I take a break and then I have to put it on again. I've gone from hardly using my rescue inhaler for years to now using it almost everyday. My doctor even had to up my dosage of Prednisone over the weekend because I went to urgent care last Friday. I lost my voice. He also has had me Serevent and Qvar since this thing started. Is anyone else having this issue because of the mask? For me I've tried changing facemasks but it doesn't work either. I'm still getting flare ups almost everyday now.
