I start shopping online or go to VarageSale sites and look up used deals to purchase. But even with the 2nd hand finds I buy ridiculous things and too much! I also flirt a lot. That’s a huge warning sign for me. I do begin talking really rapidly. People will comment on it. And then I’m like omg no! I used to post some weird opinionated stuff on social media when manic. Or over share. Like it was my diary. It only takes two days of no sleep or minimal sleep and I become manic.
I try to get as much peace, quiet, like journal, draw, lots of reading. Etc. I’m fortunate to have family and friends that let me know they are noticing symptoms. I hate hearing this as I just think I’m really happy and don’t want it to stop :(
Things I do to help slow down. Are try everything such as melatonin, no tv, or phone before bed, and listening to boring guided meditations. I like the CALM app. That’s how I finally crash and sleep. Exercising a ton makes me manic, so just light weight lifting and walking. I keep a separate savings account at a separate bank that is not linked to a checking/ debit card. That way if I need money or want it. I have to walk into a bank and withdraw it. I find the extra barrier protects from online or quick purchases. I deactivate all social media so I won’t be tempted to flirt online or want to have an affair :(
I hope that helps someone.
take care!

@Classycathy Absolutely! Try the cannabis pens. The come in Sativa (energetic high), Indica (a mellow and relaxing high) or blends. You can read on the box to see what the strain type is so you don’t grab the wrong one. I use Indica during my manic episodes. While it doesn’t completely rid me of the mania, but it definitely helps and gives me some relief. I believe you can buy them online. Our friends usually have them on hand so we get ours that way. Good luck!🍀

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Some keys to noticing a manic episode are when your thoughts race, you are anxious, you talk fast, you are not sleeping well, and you are more drawn to risky behaviors like sex, drugs, and alcohol.
Some tips to stop a manic episode include: contacting your support group, taking your medications, eat, sleep, exercise regularly and practice mindfulness.
Be sure to check with your doctor about the your particular signs, symptoms, and management for bipolar.
