Hi & hope all are well. I'll take a stab at what not to say. I don't have bipolar, but I've heard, never Ever joke about death &/or suicide. I've had friends commit suicide, & it hurts like hell!! My 2 cents, or, does someone else have a thought? Thx.

“ Things could be so much worse”. I had a so called friend that said this to me constantly. I hate that… so insensitive. There are not too many things that are worse than bipolar.

@Classycathy Absolutely! Try the cannabis pens. The come in Sativa (energetic high), Indica (a mellow and relaxing high) or blends. You can read on the box to see what the strain type is so you don’t grab the wrong one. I use Indica during my manic episodes. While it doesn’t completely rid me of the mania, but it definitely helps and gives me some relief. I believe you can buy them online. Our friends usually have them on hand so we get ours that way. Good luck!🍀

Hello everyone! How are you today?
Words can be uplifting and loving but they can also be hurtful and mean, even if the person does not try to offend you. Because of that today, I wanted to start this discussion to share what phrases or words you have heard that have hurt your feelings?
"Wrong" words have the power to pierce someone's spirit, tear away at their self-esteem, and leave them feeling devalued or even betrayed. Friendships can be strained and stressed out by poorly chosen words. People with bipolar disorder are particularly at risk.
Choosing your words carefully can strengthen relationships, fuel recovery, and make for a better quality of life for everyone.
“Never tell anyone that he looks tired or depressed,” says H. Jackson Brown Jr., in his book Life’s Little Instruction Book (Rutledge Hill Press, 1991). What other phrases should we be careful with when talking to someone with Bipolar?
