@mauricem00 Hello mauricem00, thank you for the recommendation. How did you decide to start taking CBD?
Just a reminder for others: it is important to check with your doctor before starting any new type of treatment, be it natural or complementary, as we are all different and may not react in the same way, or it may not mix well with what you are already taking.
Take care,
Courtney

@Courtney_Js I tried cbd when I saw CBD gummies at the gas station. I helped wit spasms and pain so I went online and found the best quality product I could. I still use it along with the pain drugs ( 50 mg methadone a day plus morphine as needed for spot pain) cbd has reduced my morphine use by over 50% and cut methadone use in half.hope this helps

Hey, I'm living with chronic pain as well. I'm still in the process of being diagnosed with the newest source of pain. I tore the meniscus in my right knee and ended up with bone spurs which had to be shaved down. That resulted In advanced osteoarthritis. Now I'm currently being evaluated for MS/Fibromyalgia. I have a CT angiogram scheduled for next week but I can't get the nerve test or the spinal tap now because of the pandemic. I've also been diagnosed with intracranial hypertension (IIH) and the headaches from that are like a million times worse than a migraine. It is frustrating to be living with so 3 different types of pain like this.
Very hot epsom salt baths and OTC topicals help for the arthritis but nothing helps this neuropathy and IIH headache pain. So far the Dr. has offered Tramadol which I've taken before, not sure how well it will work for this. I'm seriously hoping this thing dies down enough to I can go in for testing and hopefully get some pain relief.

@MaiTai49 Wow you are really going through it! That must be so stressful and exhausting, especially now that you can't get your tests! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that your medications work and that all of this ends soon so you can get those tests!
Hi everyone, I'm Jasmine and I have lupus, so I deal with almost daily swollen and aching joints and constant fatigue. It's definitely a roller coaster and some days are worse than others, but I try to keep a smile, especially through these difficult times.

@jasmine1092 thank you! I'm sure I'll be fine as long as this isn't progressive.

I was a back seat passenger in a car that struck another vehicle from behind when the vehicle in front stopped at a green light. It was in January and the roads were icy and snow covered. In the impact my knees struck the back of the drivers seat and the it resulted in me having a disc herniation at the L4-L5 and also damaged the L3-L4 disc and the L5-S1 disc. That was in 2007 and i have been in pain ever since, for me it was a long hard road to get where I am. My family doctor was less then helpful in this process, he would only give me Tylenol #3 which was like eating smarties.....did nothing for the pain. Just cause constipation and stomach issues, it was until I came up with the name of a specialist myself and demanded a refer me to the specialist that I finally got to someone who could help me. That was in 2010, prior to that I had tried nerve blocks in my spine to try and get relief, physio, massage, acupuncture and the pills the family doctor gave me. It was in 2010 before I got to see a neurosurgeon who deemed surgery to not be an option.
My pain specialist started me on opiates and a few other medications to help with depression and nerve pain, I still wasn't getting the relief I needed so we tweaked things until I got relief. He ended up recommending medical "pot". After talking about this with him and my new family doctor I got at that point I tried not "pot" because I would have to pay out of pocket for that, but synthetic CBD because that was covered and supplied at a regular pharmacy and wouldn't cause issues with travel because it isn't "pot". I was skeptical about its effects but I am now a believer and recommend to anyone to discuss this option with their doctors. CBD doesn't have the THC that gives the high, so I can drive and live my life normally. I still have pain which knocks me down some days but with the CBD I am able to do more to help around the house, cooking, light cleaning and be more involved in my kids lives. I can't work but I can still contribute to the family in other ways.
I know I struggled with self-worth and self-esteem post accident, it still isn't perfect but I have good days that I try to make the most of and crappy days that I just have to survive. The back injury has led to me having other issues like restless leg, diabetes, chronic pain and depression. My motivation is my kids, at the time of the accident we were trying for kids but put it on hold until we had an understanding of my new normal post accident. We have 2 kids now and they are my reason to get out of bed everyday and keep going!

Hi, I'm Beverly. I have chronic pain stemming from scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and my profession from which I'm now retired! (I am a nurse)Back in the day, scoliosis in children was not often treated, and our family physician thought it best to "leave it alone". So, no more thought was given to it. The degenerative disc disease was a hereditary thing passed on to me and my brothers from my mom. And, the twisting, turning, bending, pulling, etc came from my work. My back started to give me grief in my late 20's. I was out of work on Workman's Comp and disability many times. i have had 4 surgeries in the years since. 3 laminectomies and 1 fusion. Numerous epidurals, the last which was about 2 months ago. I have been on medications and combinations of medicines. With chronic pain comes depression, inability to sleep, apathy, can't enjoy the 'little things', difficulty in taking care of my apt, irritability, the list goes on and on...I see my Pain Center Dr tmw, and hopefully will talk more about a Spinal Cord Stimulator

I was in a car accident October 8, 1999. I broke many bones on my left side. After 3 weeks in the hospital I left in a wheelchair on Percocet. I was on that narcotic or on Vicodin for 12 years. My doctor cut me off cold turkey. I went through many withdrawals but mostly migraines, which I still suffer with today.
Narcotics are the only thing that help with my Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain Syndrome and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I’m only allowed to take Tramadol now. I’m given 10 pills twice, maybe 3 times a month. They don’t really help at all.

Behind every pain, there is a cause. There are reasons why your muscles are sore or why you are experiencing joint pain. In some cases, you might be required first to sort out the cause of pain so that you can get rid of the pain. [This content has been moderated by an administrator.]

Ambassador@Somya.P My neurologist gave me a script through the state dispensary for aid with sleep. It helps with sleep. The script is for low dose THC, so it aids with minor pain. I have learned through my trials of product that CBD gummies help with sleep, but not pain. In my state, CBD gummies can be bought at local corner stores.

@HelloKitty I started taking kratom when I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia, it means I have constant pulling of my neck and shoulder muscles. Botox is the primary treatment , 6 to 8 shots targeting muscles but its hit and miss. I told a friend about this and he told me about kratom, so I went to a kratom shop and talked to the owner. He learned I was an Army Veteran and sold me some capsules. Unbelievable the kratom knocked out the pain and relieved some of the spasms and pulling that was 5 years ago, and I am still taking it for chronic pain. I have found the vendors to trust and a fbook website to share experiences with others. Like all things kratom must be handled with common sense, and reading info on the web helps educate us all. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS WITH MY CHRONIC PAIN

Yes I agree. Im on morphine and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen and yours as well. I have some others also. If I want to work in the back yard, I am sleep mode if I set down. The next morning and at night is paying with great pain. Its a hard road in many ways. We have to keep going best as we can. Have a smile and good day to you. I have the stimulator too.

Hello everyone,
There are many chronic conditions and reasons that individuals suffer from chronic pain. Identifying others that are going through, or have gone through, something similar to you can be be comforting and helpful.
Use this discussion to briefly introduce yourself and share a bit of your story... what is the cause of your chronic pain? How long have you been in chronic pain? Any treatments that you have had success with?
