I lost a lot of hair recently and I changed my diet from vegan to get more organic meat and it seemed to help. Also I got biotin vitamins and get collagen soup once in a while and that also seemed to help. In addition, it was necessary to increase my thyroid medicine dose.

@Donsher123 That sounds like bullous lessions, when they're filled with liquid like that. Have you been to your doctor? Were they able to help?

@lupus38 Thank you for trying to help me. We t to the Dr. and they diagnosed me with adult cradle cap. The stuff is awful and wont respond to med. they gave. It is chronic so I will have it for a long time. Trying to deal with it but it is nasty. Sherx

I've noticed in this past year or so that my hair has thinned out a lot, even my eyelashes and eyebrows are thinner. I'm wondering if it's a menopause thing or if it's the lupus. I tried using baby shampoo since it's gentler but it hasn't really helped. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hello all, thank you for commenting! 😊
Has anyone else experienced hair thinning or hair loss? Was it caused by your treatments or your lupus itself, do you think? How do you cope with it? Is there anything that helps?

HELLO, I HAVE EXPERIENCED HAIR LOSS WITH METHOTREXATE BUT NOT PLAQUENIL!! THE THYROID ALSO CAN PLAY A NUMBER WITH YOUR HAIR. WHEN SOMEONE HAS A GLAND PROBLEM, IT USUALLY SHOWS UP ON THE SKIN AND HAIR. WHEN I WAS WORKING, MY HAIR WOULD PART IN SEVERAL DIRECTIONS. THE PROBLEM WAS I NEVER KNEW WHICH WAS MY NATURAL PART!!! (IF YOU HAVE HAD THAT EXPERIENCE) THAT PROVES YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL ISSUE. THE HAIR AND SKIN WILL REACT TO THE CHALLENGES YOUR BODY EXPERIENCES BEFORE YOU ARE AWARE YOU HAVE THE PHYSICAL PROBLEM. TODAY, HAIRDRESSERS ARE NOT INTO THE SCIENCE OF HAIR. THEY MAKE EVERYONE LOOK THE SAME AND WORK WITHOUT TAKING THE FACIAL FEATURES INTO CONSIDERATION. (the front of your hair is the frame of your face and the back of your hair is the frame of your body)!!! PAUL MITCHELL AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSERS ACTUALLY WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THE FEATURES ON YOUR FACE AND THE STYLE YOU MAY BE ABLE TO WEAR. TODAY, THAT SERVICE IS VERY HARD TO FIND AND AT TIMES, NO LONGER AVAILABLE UNLESS YOU SPEND AT LEAST $125,00 FOR A HAIRCUT!! (THE HAIRDRESSER DOES NOT WORK ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE!) I HOPE THAT EACH AND EVERY PERSON THAT IS TRYING TO IMPROVE THEMSELVES HAS A HAIRDRESSER THAT WILL GIVE THEM THE BEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK THEIR VERY BEST!! IF YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF-- THEN WHEN THE CHALLENGES APPEAR--YOU WILL BE READY TO DEAL WITH THE CHANGES. DEEP WITHIN YOURSELF, YOU KNOW THAT THESE CHANGES AND CHALLENGES ARE TEMPORARY CONDITIONS.
I HOPE MANY OF US REALIZE THAT WE CAN ALSO ATTEMPT TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES, AND DIRECT OUR BODIES INTO A REMISSION!!
MANY BLESSING//mickey(mickeyitaly3@aol.com

DEAR FRIENDS,
I HAVE BEEN THE ORGANIZER OF A LUPUS SUPPORT GROUP IN SOUTHERN CA. I HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN MOST DOCTORS. I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING AT DOCTOR'S CONVENTIONS FOR OVER 25 YRS. YES, LUPUS CAN CAUSE YOUR HAIR TO FALL OUT. IF LUPUS IS IN A MAJOR FLARE, YOUR HAIR CAN AND MORE THAN LIKELY FALLOUT. PREVENTION, I HAVE WORKED IN THE BEAUTY BUSINESS AND THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS USE A SHAMPOO CALLED NIXOIN FOR THINNING HAIR. PLUS DO NOT ADD STRESS TO THE HAIR BY USING ROUND BRUSHES, AND VENT BRUSHES WITH A BALL AT THE END OF IT. THE HAIR IS VERY FRAGILE WHEN WET, A WIDE TOOTH COMB IS WHAT I SUGGEST TO ALL THE PEOPLE I TALK TO WITH LUPUS. TREAT IT GENTLE AND DO NOT USE HARSH DETERGENT SHAMPOOS. MANY SHAMPOOS CAN BE DILUTED WITH HOT WATER. ASK ME, I CAN EXPLAIN IF YOU EMAIL ME: mickeyitaly3@aol.com Many Blessings Mickey aka Michele
