Thanks superman. I never knew how much surgery could take out of you. I wonder what's gonna happen after my main surgery. 10 hours under. I'll keep you updated. Keep me and take care, good luck

I finally had some great sex but no ejaculation yet. I wonder, I haven't even gotten to my main surgery Wednesday. 10 hours removing my throat. I hope i will ever ejaculate again. It's a scary thought

@MONKEYDOG12 How did you surgery go? Hope you're ok.
I'm doing 30 days of radiation. I've been having a sort of skin reaction to it and urine leaking. I've been told they're both pretty normal side effects, but can anyone confirm that it doesn't last forever? I'm not looking forward to an early future of Depends...

You didn't say what the nurses actually did. I had surgery then 40 radiation treatments. The nurses were great. Very professional. Then a short high radiation to a met in my back. I have been taking eligard same as lupron for almost 3 years. The worst side effect for me has been fatigue. It has really been debilitating. and brain fog. I am sexless and use a pad but don't have much incontinence. really just when I strain. My psa has been undetectable for .most of the time. The worst experience with a nurse was when one took my catheter out. Mostly it is the embarrassment but it was over quickly I'm only 75 and the treatment is better than being underground.

I did catheters for a while putting them in and taking them out my self, I get tired too, but I don't think as much as you. Im 77 and your right it beats being underground. I also had wonderful nurses particularly in the hyperbararic chamber room for the 40 day treatment

Is removal and/or radiation better for small, slow growing, tumors in prostate?

I made the decision to have my proste removed and it was not an easy time... just as hard as finding out you had prostate cancer... I was advised by my doctors the surgery was the best option because of my age and the harmful affects of radiation longterm. For me, once I made the decision, I did have the peace of mind knowing that the actual cancer was "removed" instead of just treated... which, I guess, did give me some sense of comfort.
The biggest issue for me once the surgery was done and I was on the road to recovering was the effects it had on me emotionally/psychologically, which many people in my opinion overlook. I encourage anyone and everyone, when diagnosed with prostate cancer, before and after treatment and during, to seek psychological help... there is nothing wrong with it. Medications, counseling, and just talking about your feelings can help tremendously. Do not hold it all in and try to battle the anxiety and depression because this diagnosis will affect you, no matter how strong you may consider yourself to be.
The sexual effects treatment has on you will also affect you mentally, because your sexual ability and ability to have kids will likely be affected. Your performance ability can be likely fixed, but it can still affect you mentaly. Take care of yourself.
