@Courtney_J I am now 70 years old and have been dealing with Bipolar for 50 years
Being old and settled, I no longer suffer depression or manic episodes, as I am on a steady dose of medication
I video chat with my psychiatrist once every six months

Hi, thank you for sharing! I was wondering if you find video chats as effective as in-person appointments? Which do you prefer (if there is any difference for you).
Take care,
Courtney

Well I see no one has written in here. What's going on? I'm in a depressive episode right now. My doctor just changed my medication 2 days ago so we will see. My husband went out of town so I'm happy about that. He's not the easiest person to get along with. Sometimes I just don't like him. It's hard living with a man that yells at you all the time. You ask a question and you'd think you started a fight with him every time. It's exhausting.
I'm in another group and I've been talking to them about walking. I think I'm going to start walking a little bit up and down my road in the morning. I really need to I don't do anything for exercise. Although now I have to wait a few days. Last night I was running up the stairs and hurt my heel I stretched the muscle in it. Yeah it's crazy right? So I definitely can't go for a walk right now.
This place is like a ghost town. What's going on?

@XGraceX Good morning I live in Castle Rock Washington, I was diagnosed with bipolar back in 1997, I spend most of my time at home, except on weekends cause my hunny has to go to garage sales which is getting much for me being 51 years young and have other health problems 1. fibromyalgia 2. arthritis and will have to have knee replacement soon. I also during the summer can produce and fish which keeps me busy at least two days a week. I also take care of five chickens and have three dogs. I think if I didn't have the animals I wouldn't be able to keep my bipolar under control. I have friends that are my hunny's but none of my own so I live a very depressing life cause I have no one to talk to bout what is going on in my head...well I think that's enough for now have a blessed daYy!!!

@slime123 Hi Slime It's so nice to meet you. I live in West Virginia. I was diagnosed when I was around 18 around 1988. I spend my time at home except to go to my therapist and my pcp. I don't have to see my pcp but every 6 to 8 months or so so that's good. My psychiatrist is on the phone so thank God I don't have to go out to see her. That's great you get out. I love to go to garage sales. I used to go all the time but my life has changed. I don't go anywhere anymore. I'm 52 years old and in good health I'm very blessed. I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. That must me hard. My husband fishes but I wouldn't fish no way!! lol We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Animals becomes family don't they? As mine lies right beside me on the desk. I only have one friend and I have to call or text her if we talk it's no fun so we don't talk much. It's so nice meeting you. Hope to talk more!!

@XGraceX Good morning it is 7:45 am here. I am an early bird cause I have to get up and let the chickens out in the morning. My silkies are egg bound at least one is so I am trying my hardest to get her to pass her egg. So I am trying everything to save her. I love taking care of animals. Sad thing is I didn't get my first dog til I was in my forties. I am 51 years young now. Didn't get chicken til bout two years ago. I was never with a man that I could have animals with. I have two kids not just animals they are ages 32 and 25 daughters, and three grandchildren ages 16, 11, and 5 two girls and one boy. Well here is a little more bout me... will share more later have a blessed day!!!!

@slime123 Hi~ I got up at 11:00 here today. I usually sleep in on Sundays. I get up at 8:00 on weekdays. I'm definitely not an early riser. My sister in law has a bunch of chickens. Why do you have them? For the eggs? Or are they just fun to have? I have 3 boys 32, 30, 28. and and 3 biological grandchildren. Makwa 3, Makai 4 and Kenai 5 we also have Zylo that isn't our grandchild but we treat as one of our own he's 6. They will all be starting school soon except Makwa. This is going to be Makai's first year. I'm so excited for him. I'm 52 years old and needing dentures. That stinks. In about a week and 2 days I will be going in for dentures and I'm scared to death. My husband says it's bad. It's the most painful thing to go through in the world. Worse than child birth. I told him I've gone through child birth with out an epidural. He said So what. Uugh!! It's been really nice here the weather's been cool. Low 80's It's supposed to be this way for the next couple of weeks. I'm happy. We don't have air conditioning. Well my grandson calls. Talk soon :)

Good morning I thought I would share how I am feeling this morning. My moods are stable at the moment and not on a roller coaster ride. I am keeping myself busy which helps with my bipolar. I have three dogs and five chickens that I tend to on a daily basis. Two of my hens are egg bound or at least one of them, they are silkies. I have a significant other we have been together for 11 years and both suffer with depression so it is hard when we are on a roller coaster ride together. I also have two daughters from my previous marriage and three grandchildren that I love more than anything in the world!! They are my life..well have a good day!!! Friend me if you want cause I have none

@Classycathy Absolutely! Try the cannabis pens. The come in Sativa (energetic high), Indica (a mellow and relaxing high) or blends. You can read on the box to see what the strain type is so you don’t grab the wrong one. I use Indica during my manic episodes. While it doesn’t completely rid me of the mania, but it definitely helps and gives me some relief. I believe you can buy them online. Our friends usually have them on hand so we get ours that way. Good luck!🍀

This really helps reading all the discussions. It's a daily reminder I'm not the only one hurting and dealing with this condition. Wish ther were more posts to talk on.
